Our hosting provider reports that the EU data center migration is now complete.

What's happening?

Our hosting provider is migrating customers in their EU data center to a different EU facility (still located within Amsterdam) and upgrading hardware and network infrastructure in the process.

Why is this happening?

From our hosting provider:

"This migration includes multiple upgrades that will automatically apply to your service. The biggest upgrade is to our network, which includes all new 100gbps internal backbones, brand new Juniper routing equipment and multiple redundant and diverse outbound routing paths. Along with the extensive network upgrades we have also taken the opportunity to upgrade the underlying hardware that will power your service. We have upgraded all storage infrastructure from the standard SSD drives to new Enterprise NVMe Arrays, and replaced our legacy intel compute nodes with new high power AMD EPYC Zen4 based CPUs."

"These upgrades mean you'll benefit from significantly faster disk performance, improved CPU processing power, lower latency, and greater overall stability. The enhanced network redundancy also ensures better resilience against outages, while the upgraded routing hardware allows for faster, more efficient traffic handling. In short, your service will be faster, more responsive, and better equipped to handle demanding workloads."

When is this happening?

This migration is scheduled to take place from 15:00 UTC on Monday 18th August 2025.

Will I still be able to access MIDAS during this maintenance event?

Our hosting provider assures us that during this process, "We do not anticipate any major service interruption". However, a few moments of interruption to your MIDAS service is to be expected whilst the actual changeover between data centers occurs.

In the unlikely event of an extended period of service interruption, customers who have the optional Emergency Access addon for their MIDAS systems will still be able to retain access to their bookings.
